For Real Life! Announcing the Psychology of Bluey!

Dance mode activated! I'm so excited to announce that I will be editing a book on the psychology of Bluey! This project, part of the Psychgeist of Pop Culture series via ETC Press, has been months in the making and I'm so happy to finally be able to share it.

This book will explore psychological themes and concepts related to the TV show Bluey. Some chapters will be episode-focused (e.g. Bin Night: Dealing with bullies and conflict at school) and some will have a broader lens (e.g. I Just Need 20 Minutes: The Exhaustion and Expectations of Motherhood).

But wait, there's more! In addition to academic works, this book will also include a select few memoir-style chapters, These chapters are focused on the personal impact that people - children and adults - have experienced watching the show. For example, "I grew up in an unhealthy home - Bandit and Chili helped me learn how to be a supportive parent" or "How Bluey has brought me closer to my kids."

If you're interested in submitting a proposal, send an abstract (no more than 300 words) and your resume or CV no later than October 15, 2023 to DunlapPsyD at gmail dot com.
